Weekend Adventures – Gull Meadow Farms

October 25, 2011

Glorious autumn weather and apple picking are perfect together.
Sunday we headed down to Gull Meadow Farms, for Miss Natalie’s first birthday!
We had a awesome time apple picking and watching our niece, nephew, and their friends run around Pumpkin Lane.  I’d have never been apple picking before, but soon learned that I shouldn’t eat every good apple I found! Truly think we should make this a yearly tradition.

So now that we have a 1/2 bushel of apples…what to do with them?
Zach think’s he’ll be able to eat them all right away… I told him I’ll start looking for some recipes.

I want to try something other than the ordinary apple pie or crisp. Suggestions?

Hope your week is going well! I’ve been busy with a few big projects here. I am really excited to share with you all some of my plans and thoughts that I’ve been throwing around my head for some time.
Stay tune!

I SO need to go apple picking. I have no excuse–there’s a farm really close to my house. But I never have been. Anyway, I will totally be awaiting your ideas, milady. Please share soon!

Apple Nachos – Core unpeeled apple and slice very thin – spread out on large platter and drizzle with caramel & sprinkle with chopped nuts, chocolate, marshmallows or whatever your little heart full of daisies wants.
